Our people


Dr Kantilal Naranji Patel QSM, RNZCGP, MBBS is of Indian origin and was born in Kenya in 1949. He attained his MBBS in 1974 from Baroda Medical College, India and moved to New Zealand in 1975.
He is the co-founder of ETHC and has been practicing as a GP in South Auckland ever since. He continues to take up the challenge to address the health inequalities in the South Auckland community.
He became a Distinguished Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practice in 2009.

Kantilal's mantra has always been: "If you look after the patient well, the business will look after itself."
Ranjna Patel ONZM, QSM, JP is also of Indian origin and a third generation New Zealander. Ranjna is the co-founder of the ETHC clinic network.
She has been heavily involved in community health promotion working alongside the Ministry of Health and Counties Manukau DHB to enhance and promote health awareness in South Auckland communities.
In 2008, Kantilal and Ranjna were recognised for their services to the community by being awarded the Queen Service Medal.

In 2017, Ranjna became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to health and the Indian community, including founding Gandhi Nivas to prevent family harm.
Patient Care Team 

The multidisciplinary patient care team at East Tamaki Healthcare (ETHC) is responsible for serving you. Various members of the team may be involved in your care depending on your needs and wishes.

Members of the patient care team are available to meet with you and your family to discuss any question you might have about the care that is being provided.

Administration/support team   

Our senior management and administration team oversee the clinic operations and manage the network of clinics. They provide effective back office support to our frontline staff and ensure that the clinics run smoothly.
