About
The ETHC clinic network has been providing medical care in South Auckland for over 40 years. It began as a one doctor, one receptionist practice in 1968 in Otara, with ETHC founders Dr Kantilal Patel and Ranjna Patel taking over in 1977.
To be the leading primary healthcare provider in the provision of affordable, accessible, culturally competent and high quality healthcare services to New Zealand communities.
To cater to the high health needs of all peoples living in the South Auckland community and wider Auckland region. We do this because we want our patients to be the healthiest and happiest they can be.
This patient-centric philosophy along with a can-do attitude has enabled ETHC to respond to the vision and needs of the Ministry of Health as well as the Counties Manukau District Health Board.
Te Tiriti o Waitangi and The Ottawa Charter are the core documents from which our principles and values are based, and we are committed to directing our work to reflect this.
Caring
We treat our patients with the utmost care and continually develop our services to ensure our performance is the best it can possibly be. Our multicultural team views all people as equal regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, faith, socioeconomic and health status.
We treat all people with dignity and respect. By being honest in all interactions and treating patient information confidentially we build trust within all relationships.
We maintain professional standards in the provision of all our medical services and contacts with patients and whanau. We also take pride in our professionalism when dealing with the wider community and people working in the health sector.
We believe our patients deserve to be seen on the day they want to be seen; we do not deny anyone access to our services. We have extended hours at a number of our practices, our facilities are widespread to enable choice and our fees are structured to make it possible for patients to access our services.
We listen to the needs of our community and seek out new ideas and solutions to meet those needs. We proactively look for inventive ways to provide optimal service, care and quality to our community.
Quality
All our practices are Cornerstone accredited by the RNZCGP. Every member of every team takes part in a quality assurance program. This reflects our belief that quality is an integral ingredient in ensuring patient satisfaction.
ETHC offers a wide range of services within the scope of general practice: general medical consultations, radiology, maternity, minor surgery and immunisations. All our clinics are registerd as ACC providers so any consultations for accidents and injuries that are covered by ACC are free.
Because some of our clinics have extended hours and others also provide urgent care, you have access to our services seven days a week, from 8am–11pm.
