Accident and injury

You can visit any of our clinics to see a doctor, free of charge, for any accident or injury related vist, such as:
  • a car accident
  • a work accident
  • a bite or scratch from an insect
  • a bite or scratch from an animal
  • a bite or scratch from another person
  • cooking burns
  • most other injuries caused by an external force including gravity, eg a fall at home.
Your doctors visit is also free if:
  • your condition comes on gradually because of your work (gradual process)
  • it is a result of medical treatment
  • sexual assault 
  • abuse.
We offer a wide range of services to manage most minor accidents which often involve a consultation with a doctor, followed by an x-ray if necessary.
Any accident or injury that occurs in New Zealand is covered by ACC which means health care services are provided free of charge, or at a reduced cost. 
If you are unsure whether your injury is covered by ACC, please ask the receptionist, nurse or doctor.
